Dear Fellow Musical Mind, We came across 'Abakus' a year and a half ago when they were playing in Berkhamsted. The band undoubtedly made a thrilling impression from the start and long has that impression remained. We have now seen them liven up many a venue, playing a selection of purposefully handpicked sets. Jay, Dave, Adam and Simon have a chemistry on stage which not only comes through in the passion with which they sing and play, but also makes them brilliantly fun to watch interact with other. Jay fully absorbs himself in the artists' styles he is enacting, Dave has the gorilla natured fire to put any drummer to contest, Adam and Simons' exceptional talents enable the band to adapt to a range of musical tastes. 'Abakus' consistently deliver a first class performance! The band played with sheer heart and soul at our wedding, getting all ages on the dance floor with a perfectly tuned set. 'Abakus' were reliable in an early set up; dedicated to learn songs at our request; flexible to change; respectful of the venues requirements and licence restrictions and completed the musical event of our lives. The band continues to search for new material; remain receptive to audience feedback and have a cracking sense of humour to succeed.
